Structure Breaks with Volume Confirmation
A break of structure without volume participation is a probe—here is how we teach the difference.
Price alone can pierce a swing high while volume stays muted. That event is a probe until participation expands or the auction fails back into prior range.
Our confirmation rule set requires rising volume on the break bar, a hold outside the prior extreme on the next session, and no immediate absorption at the new edge. Missing any piece keeps the break provisional.
Targets and invalidation are written before the break is traded. Educational practice stays on historical charts until the filter is fluent.
